Jesus is the Bread of Life Church – Chornobaivka, Ukraine
Founded in the early 1990s, Jesus the Bread of Life Church in Chornobaivka has served as a place of faith, hope, and restoration for hundreds of families in southern Ukraine. Since their ordination in 2000, Serhej and Olena have faithfully led the congregation through times of peace and, later, through the devastating years of war.
When Russia's invasion brought destruction to the Kherson region, the church became a lifeline for the local community — offering prayer, food, medicine, shelter, and encouragement. Today, the ministry (joined by HART, CSC and donors) continues to combine spiritual care with practical help, rebuilding homes and lives through the modular housing project "My Home," repairing damaged roofs, and delivering firewood and supplies to families living near the front line.
Beyond physical help, Serhej and Olena have focused on restoring hope and faith, leading Bible studies, prayer groups, and children's programs. The church has become a center of compassion and unity — where people find not only humanitarian aid, but also the presence of God in the midst of hardship.
